Shipping policy

Shipping:

Online orders will be shipped within 3 business days of the day the order was placed. Tracking information will be provided on all shipped orders to the email or phone number provided at the time of purchase. 

 

All orders are shipped via USPS media mail and have a standard expected delivery of 7-10 days. If you would like to receive your order sooner, please email us directly and we can arrange other shipping options for an additional charge. 

 

Shipping cost is determined by USPS and I cannot adjust the rates. From their website three factors go into shipping costs:

1. The size of the box

2. The distance shipped

3. Total weight.

 

We do everything possible at Bookworm Detective to save costs for customers when shipping. Our largest initiative includes using recycled materials (bags/packing materials/boxes) so there are no fees/upcharges for materials. Great for your wallet and the environment! We also take the time to custom cut down each box to save money on box sizes and so the books are less likely to shift around in transit and be damaged.

 

We try to wrap books for shipping as much as possible to protect from potential moisture exposure and bugs. Boxes are used in place of bubble mailers when possible to keep books from being damaged/bent into mailboxes.

 

When estimating shipping, USPS has a flat $3.50 fee per box, then roughly $1 per pound. The rate per pound decreases the more weight that is added. Shipping is automatically calculated for you at check-out based on the number of books/weight added and your address.

 

 

If you're ever unsure of the auto-populated shipping rate please reach out and we are happy to confirm the shipping rate is accurate for your zip code and order.

 

Local pick-up:

In-person pick-up is available on all orders with a $10 minimum purchase. You will be contacted within 24 hours of placing your online order to arrange a day/time to meet at either the Chevron or Safeway near Salmon Creek, addresses listed below.

Chevron (near Bizi Farms)

Orders must be picked-up within 5 business days of your order or a refund will be issued.

 

Delivery:

Free porch delivery is offered in Vancouver, WA for all orders of $40 or more. Surrounding Clark County areas may be eligible based on your zip code. If free delivery does not populate at check-out please contact us and we can confirm you are within a 30 minute drive for delivery.
